Samsung will present Galaxy S5, a new high-end smartphone after few hours in MWC 2014. This year, Samsung has almost managed not to leak photos and specs of the smartphone before the announcement. Unfortunately their are some pictures circulating today and unveil the device. They are not confirmed as authentic, but several clues prove that this is the correct model.
Galaxy S5 should feature a new unique design, but it is apparently not the case. In fact, if we are to believe these images, then the Galaxy S5 look like much the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3.
The series of photos reveals a model with a slightly larger screen of 5.2″. The overall design of the Galaxy S5 has not really changed from the Galaxy S4 released last year. In addition, some elements are confirmed: Fingerprint Sensor with “Fingerprint Scanner” water resistant (Micro USB plug protected) and a 16-megapixel camera sensor with the ability to shoot in 4K.
A “standard” model and a “premium” model of the Galaxy S5 are expected. The second should offer better performance and probably an outer shell with better materials and finishes rendering a little above to give customers the feel of premium smartphone. It is not impossible that the photos here reveal the first model. We have confirmation tonight through Samsung’s official event.
Interestingly, the Micro USB port embedded on the bottom edge of the terminal and is apparently protected by a plastic tab. Samsung has never done so for its other Galaxy S.
Rumored specs for the Galaxy S5 include a 5.2-inch display, a 2.5GHz quad-core processor or an 8-core Exynos processor depending on the model, a 20-megapixel or 16-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, 3GB of RAM, a 3,000 mAh battery and Android 4.4 KitKat.
