Though Apple’s iPhone looms large over the Smartphone horizon, other manufacturers such as Samsung and HTC have recently caught up in the battle for customers’ hearts, and their latest contract phones should certainly not be ignored when shopping for a good Smartphone deal.

HTC’s new Android One X boasts double the iPhone’s memory at 32GB, and comes with an 8 megapixel camera. If you get it on a 24 month contract on T-Mobile, you can get 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 250MB data allowance for only £21 per month.

However, if internet usage is your thing, T-Mobile offers the same price on the One X but with 100 minutes and 750MB data allowance. If you can’t bear to be without the talktime, T-Mobile also offers a £26p/m package, with both the 300 free minutes and 750MB data allowance.

The strongest contender in terms of sales to the latest iPhone is the Samsung Galaxy S3 16GB, and this is partly because its contract prices are generally cheaper across the board in comparison to the iPhones. For example, for £28.50 p/m Orange offers a 24 month contract that comes with 600 minutes, unlimited texts and an impressive 1GB data allowance. On 3, a buy-up-front price of £29 will get 2000 minutes, 5000 texts and unlimited data for 24 months, at £33p/m.

The Sony Xperia has been through a number of revamps and its latest guise, the Xperia S, comes with a 12Megapixel camera and 4.3” touchscreen. For £28.50p/m on Orange, you can get 600 minutes, 300 texts and 1GB data allowance for 24months. If surfing the net isn’t priority, and cost is, then for £20.50p/m on Vodafone, you get 300 minutes, 3000 texts, but a data-allowance usage limited to 250MB, on a 24 month contract.
